Hansi Hinterseer and the Tiroler Echo

Hansi Hinterseer is the superstar of folk music.
Born in Kitzbühel, he spent his youth on his grandparents’ mountain farm on the Seidlalm in rhythm with the four seasons, traditional songs and Tyrolean customs, and until today, Hansi Hinterseer has never broken this link he has with his homeland. His father Ernst won Olympic gold in the slalom at the Olympic Games in Squaw Valley in 1960, and Hansi Hinterseer also achieved international fame as a skier. Between 1973 and 1977, he won six slalom and giant slalom world cup races.
He started his musical career in 1994 with his first TV appearance in the Musikantenstadl in Schladming and hit the top of the charts with his first single “Du hast mich heut noch nicht geküsst“ [You have not yet kissed me today].
Today, Hansi Hinterseer can look back on 15 years of success in the music business, which is not only manifested by more than 4m recordings sold, full concert halls, dream quotas of his TV shows and an increasing number of walking fans in and around the Kitzbühel Open Air. In addition, the numerous gold and platinum records document the lasting popularity of Hansi Hinterseer and his songs. He already has received dozens of Audience Awards and awards from important music juries.
Hansi Hinterseer and his friends of the Tiroler Echo will go on tour in 2010 with the greatest hits and songs of this year’s fan walk and Open Air in Kitzbühel as well as with other folk songs, which are due to be released in August. Every concert promises to be an unforgettable experience.
