On 16 October 2009, two years after his last appearance in Graz, JAN DELAY returns with new musical material and his band 'Disco No 1'. With his new album 'Wir Kinder vom Bahnof Soul' [We Children from Soul Railway Station] (Release: date: 18 August 2009), Jan Delay follows the tradition of Funk, Soul, Disco, Northern Soul and, as far as music goes, tops everything existing in these areas in the German-speaking countries.

Jan Delay, from Hamburg, is considered to be one of the pioneers of the German Rap scene. His first solo album 'Searching for The Jan Soul Rebels' (2001), in which he masterly mixes familiar styles of music with innovative creations, was highly praised by critics. The successive album 'Mercedes Dance', which appeared in 2006, was in stark contrast to his first one, regarding both the music and the texts - Delay deliberately adds jazzy and funky sounds to his songs. In 2007, Jan Delay was awarded the 1Live Krone for 'Best Artist'. Jan Delay has also been involved in releases by other German artists - last with Udo Lindenberg and Silbermond.
