Armin Egger new CEO of Messe Congress Graz

Mayor of Graz Siegfried Nagl announced the new CEO of the Messe Congress Graz at a press conference earlier today. Tyrol-born Armin Egger (45) will assume overall responsibility for the company with effect from 1 September 2009.

“I will be stepping down as chairman of the Messe Graz supervisory board after almost a decade in office. It was 10 years of investment and realignment which at times was hampered by political resistance. I would particularly like to thank everyone who believed in the future of the location and the management who supported me as head of the company. Every year we edged closer to our objective of creating an exhibition and conference destination that doubles as a business hub. Armin Egger will now assume responsibility for Messe Congress Graz”, says Siegfried Nagl

Mr Egger became Austria’s youngest tourism director when he became head of the Hinterstoder tourist board at the age of just 23. His career also took him to New York, Chicago and Munich. After working on the privatisation of the Lech-Zürs tourist board he moved on to Davos where he worked as CEO of Davos Tourismus GmbH for eight years. The World Economic Forum was one of the many events staged during this time. “I am looking forward to strengthening Messe Congress Graz's international presence and improving Graz’s position as an exhibition, event and conference centre,” Mr. Egger explains.
